Today we dive into a brief history of RuneScape. RuneScape is a MMORPG released in 2001 by Jagex. The game is set in the medieval fantasy world of Gielinor and has since become one of the most popular online games of all time. RuneScape has over 200 million registered accounts and continues to be played by millions of people around the world.

The game is based on the Java programming language and is playable through any internet browser. RuneScape was originally designed as a 2D game but was later updated to include 3D graphics. The game features thousands of quests, monsters, and locations to explore. RuneScape also has a unique economy system where players can trade goods with one another.

RuneScape has been through many updates and changes since its launch in 2001. The game has constantly evolved to keep up with the changing demands of its players. RuneScape is now one of the most popular online games and continues to grow in popularity every year.

Jagex is a British video game developer and publisher based at the St Jame’s Centre in Cambridge, England. The company is best known for developing and publishing the massively multiplayer online role-playing game RuneScape.

Jagex was founded in 2001 by Andrew Gower and Paul Gower, brothers who had previously created games independently under the name Jagex Ltd. The company’s first major release was DeviousMUD, which was later renamed to RuneScape after a trademark dispute. RuneScape quickly gained popularity, becoming one of the most popular MMORPGs of all time. Jagex has since released several other games, including the mobile spin-off Old School RuneScape.

In recent years, Jagex has been acquired by Chinese company ZhongJi Holding, and has undergone massive changes in leadership. However, the company continues to develop and release new content for its games, with plans to expand its portfolio in the future. Jagex is one of the few remaining independent game developers and publishers in the UK, and continues to be a major player in the video game industry.
